While there are many car wash systems manufacturers in the market, at times, customers don’t know how to evaluate a manufacturer, its products, and its service.  These questions, listed below, make the difference between manufacturers, their products, and their service.  And hence, they can make a dramatic difference in your success in the car wash business.

  • Are you dealing with a manufacturer which has shipped more than 1000 car wash systems and has satisfied customers in every state of US and many countries abroad?
  • How many years has the manufacturer been in the car wash equipment industry?
  • How is the reliability and cost-efficiency of their equipment?
  • Does the equipment manufacturer implement continuous improvement programs and introduce product innovations? Do they have any design patents?
  • Is the equipment manufacturer a long term business partner and a complete support provider (from selecting your site, to supporting you with 24/7 technical support and parts)?
  • Does the manufacturer have wide network of its authorized dealers and service personnel?
  • What is the thickness and grade of the stainless steel frame used in the equipment? Does the frame have leveling legs?
  • What type of pump is being used? What is the quality (and HP) of the motor?
  • What quality of solenoid valves are used? What type of rings and seats are in the solenoids?
  • Are the gauges dry or liquid-filled?
  • Are there high quality needle valves (or other types of shut-off valves) on all chemical lines?
  • Is galvanized metal mixed with stainless steel or brass in the plumbing hookups?
  • Is the brass used in equipment thick-walled brass?
  • Is the unit pre-wired? Is the prewiring ETL/UL listed and approved?
  • What type of timer is being used? Does it have a “Last Coin Alert” output? Does it accept dollar bills and credit cards?
  • Are the pumps gravity-fed? Gravity feeding is far superior to injector or suction-feeding.
  • Is the equipment module well organized?  Are all critical components clearly labeled and easily accessible?
  • Is all bay equipment (booms, wand holders, meters, fluid tank, mounting plates for pumps and motors, solenoid valves, frames, etc.) stainless steel?
  • Does the equipment have an intermittent weep or weep recovery system?  A proper weep system can save 50 to 90% of weep water.
  • Is the equipment manufacturer easily accessible when required?
  • Does the manufacturer maintain a large inventory of replacement parts?
  • Are you dealing with a company that offers free 24-hour technical support (if needed) after you have purchased your equipment?
